Nothing beats photo’s but there’s something extra special about incorporating a memento from your wedding into your home decor.
Guest books are a great way to capture the memory of your wedding; to remember all the family and friends who have joined you on such an extraordinary and memorable day; to wish you and your husband the happiest of lives together. Here are a few simple yet fun ideas to create a guest book that captures your special day.

The Book Message!

The first one I like to call “the book message.” First decorate a simple bound white journal. Inside glue mini envelopes to each page. Then cut out little rectangular cards that will fit inside the envelopes. The guest will write a message on the card and place it in an envelope and write their name on the cover. There you have it! A fun way to send good vibes to the happy couple.

Polaroids!

Another great idea is to capture the moment…literally. Get a polaroid, a sharpie, a large, empty picture frame (without the glass), ribbon and clothespins. After the glass has been removed from the frame glue the ribbon to both sides of the frame. At the wedding have a polaroid camera available to take silly photos, the guest can then write a message on the bottom of the picture and pin it to the ribbon with a cloth pins. This guest book is perfect for creating a memento that you can take home a hang up to savor the moment!

Puzzles!

What about a puzzle? This symbolic guest book is very simple. Buy a plain wood puzzle and a sharpie. At your wedding write a sign that guides your guest, something like “welcome please sign a piece to our puzzle,” then have them place it in a jar. Years from the wedding you can do the puzzle and remember all the great things people had to say!

Advice Coasters!

It can never hurt to have a little helpful marital advice at the ready. On your welcome table have a basket of blank coasters for guests to fill out with advice and funny memories. You’ll end up using these, especially during the first year as you are using your wine glasses and getting settled into your new digs together.

Date Jar!

How many newlywed lives begin with the question, “What do you want to do now?” Save yourself those woes, and draw an idea from a jar of ideas given to you by your wedding guests. You can DIY this little project on your own! it’s fun and easy and will keep your guests enthralled.

Wishing Stones

Another creative decorative guest book idea is wishing stones. Your guests can each sign a stone or pebble with their well wishes and advice and after the wedding you can use them to decorate your garden, or keep them in a glass vase to put on display!

Ornaments

Ornaments are a guest book idea that double as a practical wedding gift! Provide any type of ornament you like for your guests to sign and leave their messages on. Then, use them to decorate your house or Christmas tree when the time comes. This is also the ideal guest book idea for those having a wintertime wedding.
